About
Dr Tanveer Ahmed is a general adult psychiatrist who sees a broad range of patients. He works in private practice at the highly regarded Hills Clinic, which includes an adolescent unit and sees patients upwards of age thirteen.
He trained through the Royal Australian College of Psychiatrists and Sydney University where he completed his medical degree.
Dr Ahmed also works in a public community health facility in Bankstown, consulting with some of the most disadvantaged clients in our community. Dr Ahmed also visits clients in jail or other forensic settings to conduct assessments for court.
He is available for telehealth consultations or opinions for international clients.
Dr Ahmed is also the author of two books, the first, a migration memoir called The Exotic Rissole published by New South in 2011, and most recent, Fragile Nation, about the cultural rise of mental health in Western societies.
He has written columns and features throughout the Australian media. He has presented international news stories for Channel 7’s Sunday Night program and co-hosted a prime-time gameshow.
